Data Recovery Case Studies

We recently had a client who sent their computer to Dell for computer repair, they had assured the customer that their drive would not be reformatted and all the data would remain on the hard drive untouched. When the customer received their computer back from they turned it on and low and behold no data was there, the drive had been wiped and reinstalled. After complaining to Dell, they said that they never said the data wouldn't be lost. Luckily for the customer Dell hadn't replaced the hard drive, just the motherboard, even though the drive had been reformatted we were able to recover all of their accounting data, word documents and pictures that had been stored on the hard drive prior to shipping it off to Dell. Needless to say we had an extremely excited customer.
